Gloucester Model Show 2014
Up early with the Skylarks and a quick trip over to Erdington to pick up another model maker,it was off down the M5.The venue is located just off junction 10 of the M5 on the perimeter of Gloucester Airport.
Arriving just before 08.45am it was a quick unload and in to the centre. As always I was displaying with 580 Modellers. The rest of the crew arrived within minutes of myself and we set up.
By 09.30 it was off for a look around. The show is split into Three rooms, with a central large room with a stage. The traders were placed around the outside of the said room and clubs in the middle.
Traders wise we had my good friends Chris Summers from Kits-Kits and Phil Mitchell of Mainly Military.Phil had the new Tamiya Nashorn for a smidge over £40 and some of the Emhar Bedfords, very tempting indeed. On my list when I return from IMSS Ireland on the 17th of May.Other traders included Little Cars who this year were split between the show at Hendon and Gloucester.Well done for the effort I say. This year I came across a new trader called M.A.N run by Peter Bowyer.Peter has a good selection of Armour and Aviation at good prices and a good web site.Google M.A.N highly recommended folks.
On to clubs. As well as 580 Modellers we had Warrington,Wallingford, Birmingham and Steve and Harry Newton amongst the gathered. This year the top award went to Warrington.A well designed display by our Dave.
So what did I buy this year. Not a lot to be honest as I was saving for IMSS Ireland. But what I did get was bargains.A mantlet cover for my Centurion by AFV £2.99.A scotia cam net,F-14 resin wheels for £1 1/48th.A new work mat and sanding sticks from Little Cars for £10.
In conclusion a great day out and a busy one for the show.I do love this show as it has a bar and great tea and cake and bacon rolls.Thank you Geoff et all again for a grand show.We will return in 2015
